Problem with low night situation on M9

Hi all, my m9 got this problem in low light especially in high iso situation. Do you think it’s a sd card or motherboard issue? Thx

Sorry to say that is ( maybe ? ) well know "banding".

You would see this on every frame at same places, if it's the case.

I don't think that can be SD card issues, just use another SD card to be sure.

Thanks guy! I’ve solved the problem. It’s because I used a wrong sd card. After I use a older and slower sd card, this problem solved. Thx!

Good Warmy, all solved.

Yes, the M9 is on a walking stick, but still all works generally.  So using an older sd card is the answer.

I initially used a fast 32mb SD card, all experts told me that was wrong and funnily enough it turns out they were right (thanks Sonnar Brian!). A slow 16mb compact flash card (commonly only available via eBay it seems) solved all issues in that regard.

When I was looking into getting my M9 everything I read that mentioned SD cards recommended 16gb at 45mb/s so that's what I got and have never had an issue. I get 341 shots shooting DNG & JPG Fine, I've enver come even close to filling a card but always carry a spare and spare battery (only once needed that).

I use all sorts of SD cards in my M9s with no problem. I have a suspicion that the SD cards vary in 'quality' much more than the cameras and its the SD cards that are the problem. So far (~15 years using them) I've only had a couple of problems with SD cards both of which I dealt with by throwing te card away. QC on a cheap but sophisticated item is likely to be lower in some cases (cheapest) than others I expect.

This is really interesting, as I've been using the same 32GB Sandisk Ultra in my M9 for years, and with no issue at all. Mind you, I haven't tried any newer Sandisk Ultras at 90 or 150 mbps, though.

Yep. Always buy your cards from impeccable sources and be highly suspicious of special offers.

I use SD Card Formatter from SD Association,  https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/

and since then I don't have any problems with the cards.
