Good day. Something weird just happened.

I just purchased a used Monochrom 246 and was using it for a few days and then all of a sudden after taking an exposure the camera locks and displays “Noise reduction 49 seconds…” etc and will not allow another exposure until it’s completed. Ive changed no settings.

Can someone please advise me as to what this is and how I can Rectify it.?

Thank you.

LENR, which kicks in automatically if the exposure is over 1 second.  Sounds like you inadvertently took a long exposure photo, possibly forgetting to remove the lens caps. Either way, the noise reduction kicked in which forced you to wait for completion until the next shot as its sampling the sensor for noise so it can be removed from the exposure.

I’m just a knucklehead. I had the lens cap on. I’m just now back to the M’s after a full decade. Mod, if you can please remove this as it’s just taking up space.

Thank you.

No worries. Trust me, there is zero no need to feel embarrassed... we've all managed this one at one time or another. Enjoy the 246, lovely camera!

You would be surprised the frames on my film that occasionally have a photograph of the inside of my lens cap!
