So where did we net out on all of this?  I've enjoyed reading the thread, but I think that I've lost the bubble.  I never actually figured out where in the original set of resolution chart images I was supposed to be looking for the "glow".  It wasn't obvious to me

At the end of the day it seems we can conclude:

1 - that the "glow" is in the lens and not in the M11

2 - the M11 is revealing characteristics of the OP's lenses that he/she hadn't noticed from prior M models

Your M11 pics charts above look blurry at f/2 to me

Look at the resolution charts again.
Verify the relative LPM patch where the false colors (moire) starts to show for M11 vs. M240.

There's really no mystery there.

Yes and no.
Get ready, this one will be a doozy.

Here's Nokton 40mm, wide open, in a very high contrast situation where it normally exhibits fringing (note - this is NOT longitudinal CA):

Note also that it resolves better on M11 than on M240.

Just to keep things interesting (even if a little off topic), here's Nokton vs. Summicron (note - Summicron's FoV is wider) at f/2.0, both shot on M11, 100% crops:

And here's what a Heliar looks like wide open (not that it matters at f/4.5 anyways) on an M11, 100% crop, just to give you an impression of the amount of detail M11 truly captures:

Not sure what you're trying to demonstrate here sorry. "Glow", color fringing or resolution? In any case i would use a single lens to avoid variables and i would upsize M240 pics instead of downsizing M11's as suggested previously. BTW your Nokton lens does exhibit color fringing on the M11 as you can see below.
