This is probably the closest to what the real colors were when I took the photo.  Around 230pm, about 3 hours before sunset

Interesting that even at f8 the mountain seems sharper than the trees.  There may have been some wind, but at 1/125s ...

I’d guess it’s because most of the trees have needles not leaves and at f8 such high frequency detail starts to get hit by diffraction.

"This is probably the closest to what the real colors were when I took the photo."  Yes, I souped up the colours in the Lightroom version to make it look a bit sunnier.  It's a choice, do you want the pic pleasing, or more realistic (less saturation / contrast / brightness)?  One may sell better, the other be more authentic.  You pays your money (or not) ...

Method: ACR and auto (to have my favourite starting point) Clarity +10, Dehaze +5, LAB: narrowed the curves of A and B channel, skewed the B channel slightly to warm the image a bit, Motion Blur Auto in Topaz Sharpen AI to remove the motion blur in the branches of the of the pine trees. Reduced to 2480 Pixels. < click for for best view>

I've had a go with this but the native file isn't suitable for post processing and to be honest I'm shocked how poor it is before post processing breaks down, there appears to be a lot of inherent vignetting in the original file.

Did something go wrong with your download? In my process it was quite robust and I did not see any special vignette. It could also be that your hard/software wereovertaxed with a 60 MP file.

Try downloading the file again.  Shouldn't be any vignetting.  The photo was taken at base iso of 64 and is almost 90mb.  Should be plenty of latitude for edits.  The file is also the original from the memory card, and not an export from lightroom so it won't have any corrections baked in so you can turn off corrections in your software if needed.
