johntobias Posted February 20, 2022 Share #1 Posted February 20, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thought I’d get the official one. Well folks , it is night and day better than the wannabes. Even my usual thumbie. Clever design puts pads at all the contact points do zero marks on your camera. If you use a thumb grip, don’t waste your time with the copies! Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 Hi johntobias, Take a look here Thumb grip. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
real_consul Posted February 20, 2022 Share #2 Posted February 20, 2022 Regrettably it is not possible to use it with Visoflex VF.. May be somebody know any similar solution, beside of the original handgrip (Part.No. #24025)? Best, Alex
johntobias Posted February 20, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted February 20, 2022 If I use the Viso, I just unclip it. As I shoot a 35 ‘cron 97% of the time I rarely use a viso but I fully accept your point , that’s where the stick on thumbie wins out!

FlashGordonPhotography Posted February 20, 2022 Share #6 Posted February 20, 2022 I vastly prefer Steve Bennett's Thumbie to the hotshoe thumb grips. I don't need the handling of my camera changing every time I want to use either the Visoflex or a small flash. Short of the brilliant built in support on the M10-D the Thumbie is my preferred solution. I've had one on every digital M since the M9. I briefly tried the hotshoe one on the M240 but quickly changed back. Gordon
Stevejack Posted February 22, 2022 Share #7 Posted February 22, 2022 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Strangely enough on the M11 I don't feel like I need the thumb grip, but I absolutely needed it on the M10 series. I'm not sure why because I wouldn't think the weight difference to be significant enough. i just feel like I have a better grip on the M11 than I do with the M10 black chrome cameras so perhaps it's the finish? Has anyone else found the same? Edited February 22, 2022 by Stevejack

Has anyone else found the same? I feel the same. I had stopped using the thumb grip in recent years because I could feel it jabbing into me when I wore the camera cross-body. The lower weight and “grippiness” of the new black finish on the M11 make it even easier to live without the thumb grip.
sarkleshark Posted February 23, 2022 Share #9 Posted February 23, 2022 I agree, the lower weight and subtle texture on the black makes for a more secure grip than a silve M10 and I have not missed using a thumb support.
