robnyc1 Posted February 18, 2022 Share #1 Posted February 18, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey guys, Coming from film, a common workflow I have with shooting scenes / subjects with uneven lighting is: 1. Go to subject, measure light w light meter (incident reading), adjust settings on camera accordingly 2. Go back and focus / compose the shot This could be approximated with Q2M by measuring light with the spot reading, locking that in with AE lock, then going back and focusing / composing for the shot. Unfortunately manual refocusing totally resets the exposure from the exposure lock. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

marchyman Posted February 18, 2022 Share #2 Posted February 18, 2022 Use full manual mode for setting exposure?
robnyc1 Posted February 19, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted February 19, 2022 I want to do this with auto ISO and auto shutter speed. But I can’t lock in those parameters and AE lock and then refocus. It resets the exposure
