Advertisement Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Hi frame-it, Take a look here Sources of info on non-Leica screw mount lenses. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LocalHero1953 Posted February 19, 2022 Author Share #22 Posted February 19, 2022 I have just bought a first non-Leica LTM lens: W-Nikkor.C 35mm f/2.5. It should arrive next week. The Elmar 5cm are nice, but I often prefer 35mm or 28mm.

I am interested in: Who made lenses in LTM Compatibility e.g. rangefinder coupling Performance: contrast, sharpness, vignetting, flaring All advice welcome! Manual search at RFF. They had huge info, but broken google search after bad forum engine update.
Pyrogallol Posted February 19, 2022 Share #24 Posted February 19, 2022 (edited) Another nice non-Leitz lens I have is a Minolta Super Rokkor 45mm f2.8 Originally made for the Minolta 35, it is Leica screw, rangefinder coupled and takes regular A36 size filters/hoods. It is only a fraction larger than a 35mm f3.5 Summaron and seems just as good. Mine came from West Yorkshire Cameras. Info about them here https://www.canonrangefinder.org/Minolta_lenses.htm Welcome, dear visitor! LocalHero1953 Posted February 19, 2022 Author Share #25 Posted February 19, 2022 I like these non-Leitz lenses in chrome with the A36 filter/hood size - they match the Leica bodies and lenses well. With three bodies, I would like a 28mm to go with the 35mm Nikkor and 5cm Elmars (three - each body came with one). Perhaps a Nikkor 28mm f/3.5, but they seem rarer. Pyrogallol Posted February 19, 2022 Share #26 Posted February 19, 2022 (edited) I have two Canon 28mm lenses, the f3.5 and f2.8 but not the Nikon version. Neither of the Canons are A36. Details on the same Canon site as the Rokkor. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Photosynthesis lists it just as 'July 1952 - '
Pyrogallol Posted February 23, 2022 Share #30 Posted February 23, 2022 Mine does not have either marking. According to Rotoloni’s “The Complete Nikon Rangefinder System” the 35mm f2.5 came out in September 1952 so do not normally have the mioj marking as the official US occupation of Japan was ending. His book is mainly about the Nikon S bayonet cameras and lenses and Leica thread lenses are just mentioned where they occur. You have to try and fit your serial number lenses into the batches they seem to have been produced in. So these ones look to around 1952 to 58? Welcome, dear visitor! The other online sources I've found (Pacific Rim and Mir) are no more specific.

zeitz Posted February 24, 2022 Share #37 Posted February 24, 2022 Off the topic, but it is interesting Nikon had to use a third party L-Z adapter to take the photos even though the camera and lens are both Nikon products. Even the F lens to Z camera adapter (FTZ) had limited functionality.

Edit: sorry, misread your post - I see you don't have the Nikon. But would appreciate the comments of anyone who does!
