... outdoors.  I got lucky.  Yesterday was pouring rain at about the same time, as I've only known it to rain in SIngapore and Mumbai.

May I ask how the sensor alignment manifested itself in images or how you came to the conclusion something was wrong?

It was extremely confusing. Most of my lenses were fine but I had several certified used and new 28mm lenses, a mixture of crons and elmarits, that were soft on the right hand side and this didn’t clean up fully until f5.6 or in one case f8.

I assumed that this was a consecutive lens issue because it was only with the 28mm lenses and not with WATE, 35 Lux, 50 APO or 90 Macro but after I think the fourth incidence it was suggested that the most recent (brand new) 28 Cron and the camera itself go to hospital and the lens came back with a note just saying that it had been adjusted whereas the camera had a long list of interventions, one of which was sensor alignment, which is what they had guessed at.

Adjust sensor position
Clean sensor
Repair leather / leatherette
Adjust electr. / mech. assemblies
Adg. VF mask / frame line mirror refl.
Clean range finder / view finder
Adjust range finder
Test images
Cleaning
Final inspection

All that for a camera that had largely been used (by me) to test itself and my lenses and had not seen much real world use at all and was still quite new. I would add that IMHO the sensor came back with more bunnies on it than when it left. I guess that if they adjusted the sensor position, they also had to adjust the RF, which IMHO was fine beforehand but might need co-realignment when the sensor moves?

It seem to work OK now   -  though I have not yet been able to test it thoroughly I have yet to see any odd results in normal use.

Great idea stitching 50mm shots, I guess 3 shots vertically? love your landscape shots in this thread even with 28mm and the editing as well.
