There is a store on the other side of town, in Lansing, Michigan, from where I live.  It is an institution in this area.  I love to go there just to walk around (and I have never gotten out for less than $100).  This time I took my new M11 with 35 cron on it.  And yes, this really is what it looks like all the time!  Mark

Shoreditch colors. M11 + Summilux 35 + Cobalt Kodachrome 60s profile. Love the exposure metering and output from the M11. Hardly touch the files at all.

Is the camera or the lens, or both, that makes the shadows look so good? There's something very special about this camera or lens that I've never gotten in any other camera I've had before. These are just snaps I took of people's front doors in my neighborhood on a slightly overcast day a little after sunset. THE SHADOWS though! I don't even know how to describe it.

Lens: Summilux 50mm black chrome 11688

Agree with your assessment. The files from this camera are truly special.

Could be a combination of factors. BSI sensor may be an important element, not to mention the ever decreasing thickness of the cover glass helping to improve lens performance. Also having 60 MP on hand is a significant step-up particularly in an M camera.

Lastly Leica color science and extensive experience fine tuning the performance of the technology ( hardware & software) may be the “pixie dust” icing on the cake.
