M11+Summilux-M 35/1.4. We'd covered a 100 km on terrible roads. Now there was just 89 km left to Mechuka when we stopped at the Hiba Line Hotel in Tato for chai and biscuits.

Very nice action shot!!   The image of the horse is amazing.  Perfect timing!!!!!

If you cropped it to just show the horse and rider, that would be absolutely spectacular!  I try to see all the details.

The woman was practicing barrel racing with her horse. After several times around the same course I was able to determine where optimal focus might be so I took the shot at f2 to see if both the woman and horse would remain in focus at about 20-25 feet. Happily, it turned out well. After years of rangefinder shooting, you start to anticipate where the maximum zone of focus might be with manual focus. :)

That, combined with your knowledge of "barrel racing" led to a spectacular image.  My brother has done things like this in the past, but I've never had the opportunity to do so.  Yours is as good, or better, than any similar photos I can remember seeing.  Unfortunately, in Miami, Florida, I don't get to see much barrel racing, and if I had the opportunity, I would be afraid to get as close to the action as you were.  Very WELL DONE!!!!

These storage places always feel a little cyberpunk to me. I need to figure out a cyberpunk treatment for them.
