Leica Standard Model E vs. Leica I Model C

I picked up a Leica Black Enamel s/n 325363 which according to cameraquest lists it as a Leica I built in 1939.

I don’t have a picture to share yet, but the rewind knob is the taller version found on the Leica Standard.

Without seeing a picture, is it safe to say that it’s actually a Leica Standard?

The E is a Standard and it is a Model 1..(it’s just names)

You are right that it's just names, but the "Standard" was never named "Leica I" by Leitz. Before the "Leica Modell II" was introduced, it was just the "Leica". Since the introduction of the "II" the simple model without rangefinder was called "Standard". Only in hindsight - especially for upgrades - the models built before the introduction of the "II" were called "Leica I".

Can you send a photo of the camera? It is almost certainly a Standard, which is in the I line. The Standard is a standardised I with an extendable rewind knob.  The I designation was re-introduced after WWII with the Ic and the If.

Thanks for confirming it’s a Standard.  One my workbench right now being clad. Several pieces of broken film trapped in the gearing, shutter crate, and curtain assembly.  It’s sounds very nice now without these obstructions interfering with things.
