Hi guys, I need your advice, or experience with this lens.

first of all, does the RF coupling goes well with the J9-m39?

I also read this:

Quote

exact correspondence rangefinder-real focus from minimal distance(1.1 m) to 2 m approx. Or from 2m-infinity. Full range can't be achieved.

Info about this lens with M camera's is too scattered on this forum.

best adapter option? currently looking at the: URTH M39 -> Leica M (28-90mm Frame Lines)

Thanks for the help!

Yes for J9 +adapter on M240 + EVF...LV.

No the RF coupling on mine doesn't work for all distance.

Nice lens to try out, even not RF coupling "well" I used on my M8 as close distance lens.

Tinkering for long, nothing can do to adjust the RF to M  for J9.

So EVF or LV use in most case.

I use Leitz LTM to M adapter.

I had some flaws with noname adapters, so never again.

...

if not, some explanations of the flawed J9...

Had you seen this site (link to ...) for J9 ?

There may be differences for different versions, though the rangefinder coupling works well from near focus to infinity with my example.

It is better to use the EVF for any Jupiter lens, esp. the longer focal ranges: they were originally made for the KIEV/Zeiss Contax mount which had a different flange to film distance and were not calibrated for the Leica.

Though at f/2 the lens is very soft which makes it forgiving even when the focus isn't spot on.

Jupiter-9 is a great lens. With alittle help from the EVF …

I do not remember infinity problems. But yes, somewhere the manual focus deviates. But with the M240 you can focus peak:

Of course I like the size: it is so compact. And all photo’s hav a specific charm.
