I have a brand new SL2 and I’m having an issue with taking videos indoor. When I switch the camera from photo to video mode, the screen is so dark it’s completely black. When I shoot video outside, it’s fine. Photos inside are also fine. I’m trying to determine if the problem is a setting on the camera or if I need to send it back.

So what solved the problem? Just curious?

I thought the ISO was set on automatic by default in video mode and it wasn’t.  I located the correct setting and issue was resolved.

You can have auto ISO be the default setting by saving a user profile for video (along with any other preferred settings).
