Yes, indeed. I have always wondered how/why Leica calls it "black chrome" which makes no sense at all.  I guess something must have gotten lost in translation.

Black chrome is a different finish to black anodised (the former being more matte).

Mmmmm...yes, those are the finer details of Leica's bizarre nomenclature. I get that but to my mind, chrome is shiny, silver, metallic stuff.

Chrome is definitely not black. 

Or, have I got something muddled up (again)?

Chrome plating can be black, the black is achieved in alloying other metals with the chromium, but it is the same process as silver coloured chrome plating. Anodising is a different process so instead of laying down an extra coating of metal it oxidises the base metal itself.
