landsknechte Posted November 16, 2021 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) For those of you that are familiar with the older screwmount version of this lens and the later M-Mount version: is there any difference optically between the two? Advertisement Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Hi landsknechte, Take a look here Voigtländer Color Skopar 35/2.5: Screwmount version vs M-Mount version?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
TomB_tx Posted November 16, 2021 Share #2 Posted November 16, 2021 Optics are supposed to be identical, while the controls (focus, aperture) on the M are more like-a. I really like the M version - used for many years.
kivis Posted December 17, 2021 Share #3 Posted December 17, 2021 I have the 21/3.5 Color Skopar Vintage Line Type I ASPHERICAL M Mount lens. Very pleased with it.
landsknechte Posted December 17, 2021 Author Share #4 Posted December 17, 2021 Ultimately I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the screwmount version of the lens. So far I'm pleased with it. I'm a lot more familiar with the typical screwmount ergonomics, but I wanted to make sure that there wasn't some sort of a big change one way or the other. spydrxx Posted December 18, 2021 Share #5 Posted December 18, 2021 I understood that there was no significant difference so also bought the screwmount version which I often use with an adapter on my M body as well as my screwwmount bodies. Somewhere along the line though, there was an optical change which reduced magenta vignetting in color films.
Guest Posted December 18, 2021 Share #6 Posted December 18, 2021 (edited) For my screw mount Leica IIIa syn I like small M39 lenses, other lenses wouldn't even fit. But if I only took photos with M cameras, M lenses would always be my first choice, as every adapter carries the risk of slight deviations from the best possible connection between lens and camera.
