Whoa right there cobbu2! I don't think those people unlucky enough not to already have a 135mm Elmarit-M are going to appreciate that conclusive evidence you've presented. Evidence that, of course, you really NEED one of these wonderful lenses! That's just a great shot - the bee's knees in fact!

Many thanks Phil! I actually use this lens more on my M8 than my M240! On my M240 I have to use live view to achieve focus. 😆 Without a doubt the 135/2.8 is more capable than many give it credit for.

Cheers, Allan

Beautiful light! Is that the fabled 8-element goggled Summicron for the M3 Rog? That would make a very canny reissue, anyone from Leica who is listening...

Yes, I have the Gaussian 8-element M3 goggled design from 1960 (1774380), which was changed to a 6-element design in 1969. Wearing glasses shooting with my M-A, I can view the entire (reduced) 50mm frame lines, as opposed to shooting a 35mm Summicron-M without the auxiliary viewfinder attachment. Also, the SBLOO 35mm viewfinder isn't much help for me wearing eyeglasses.

Rog - I'm really liking that bold use of negative space in this set with the goggled 35mm summicron. And your titles are hilarious!

Dave - I get the distinct impression that the DR 50mm summicron is enabling you to get quite a distinctive view of your wanderings.

Mikozia - A warm welcome, especially as you bring such a glorious orchid for our delight!

M-P w/Summicron-M 50 DR.

Stupendous, and this really demonstrates the capability of this extraordinary lens and its closeup capability. Your rendition here is impressive with the artful out of focus that really gives it depth. Is this part of series? Looking forward to more!
