Also my favorites were the P47 and the P51, Each of theses had their special abilities . For protection and making it home I would have to give the P47 my vote based on the pilots who flew them. For sheer maneuverability and joy to fly the Mustang would get my vote. I had the chance to sit in the back of one several years ago at Chino where I had my Beechcraft Sierra.
