The Britishness of this is great :) (fathers expressions, sons expression, mums expression ).   Kid looks thoroughly p!$$ed off. Englishness at its best.

Fabulous catch!  Years ago there was a situation comedy on US TV called, Night Court starring Harry Anderson as the judge.  Every now and then they'd bring back a family who looked like this one, as though there was a black rain cloud directly over their heads.  thank you for reminding me of it.

A lovely shot with a retro feeling. I love it.

Thanks Louis - the retro feeling may be due to this having been captured quite a few years ago…though I suspect the dynamic and character set exists today…

Looks like they all got something nasty in their sandwiches, or they had a big fight about where to go after lunch.

Yes, I agree that there is an undercurrent of something going on here…I also think he is a little unhappy with my openly capturing it…

Haha I hadn’t considered Britishness as an element but I now see it…

Glad to have brought up the memory - I enjoyed that show as well…

You're kidding of course. I love the Brits and their humour.

I’ve been away 18 years now so it’s Nice to see something so quintessentially English. Really great capture. Generally here in Australia everyone looks far too happy with life, which has always seemed a little odd  :)

Yes it’s fantastic. Particularly the Disaffected youth.
Disclaimer ... we aren’t like that all the time ☺️

Great photo …..although I doubt the family are British….

I’m going to disagree - for me, quintessentially British dynamic in both appearance and behavior. Stiff upper lip and all that…
