Focus Issue of Macro-Elmarit-R 60mm f2.8 to L Mount Camera

Today I put Macro-Elmarit-R 60mm to Panasonic S1 with a brand new L/R to L adapter made by Metabones.

However, after I tried to focus from infinity to 0.27m, it appears that the whole focus range is much closer than each stop of DoF scales. E.g. after I switched to infinity stop, the focus point actually leaves on around 3 meters away.

Now I am not really sure there is a problem either in the lens or in the metabones adapter. Does anyone have similar problem before? Thanks.

I think that the adapter is a bit too thick.

To find out, you can measure it's thickness with digital caliper.

I don't know the required thickness but we can find out also, knowing the 47mm of Leica R ( flange to film ) minus the flange to sensor of your camera.

The thickness is almost 26.9mm as the seller measured so it looks suitable.

I think by observing the "gap length" of the Macro-Elmarit-M 60 show above, comparing to my 60mm set at infinity,

the 'gap' at front is far larger ( about x3 times larger) than mine set to infinity stop .
