Also, thank you to everyone who helped to make it another successful month by generously posting their pictures and in particular to those people who posted for the first time - I hope you found it an interesting and rewarding experience and I hope it encourages you to share more of your pictures with us! The 157th Barnack's Monthly theme for October 2021 is: Liquid This month's theme is any picture that contains liquid or the word "liquid" in the picture. For example, it could be a filled swimming pool, water in a paddling pool, a full diving pool, a cooling drink, a hot drink, Mercury at room temperature, Champagne at a celebration, dishes in the kitchen sink, fountain pen ink, wet paint on the road, raindrops on a window pane, a puddle on a doorstep, a wet shower head, a shower after a shower, a rubber ducky swimming in the bath, jet black coffee filling a cup, "two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year" (Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here), engine oil being poured into a filler, Maple syrup, golden syrup, melting ice cream from a Sundae, water spraying from a watering can, rain, petrol floating on water in a puddle, a dripping car wash, painting a swimming pool, painting a picture, flooded fields, thawing snow, a fireman's hose in use, watering the garden with a garden hose, boiling water in a pot on the stove, raindrops on the top deck of a camera, glistening dewdrops in the early morning, sap from a pruned plant, oil spots beneath a car, a carafe of wine at dinner, milk in corn flakes, pea soup, tomato juice, prune juice, peach nectar, a latte, blood oozing from a child's grazed knee, snot (please, no!), wet glue, rainwater flowing down a culvert, water filling up a steam train's boiler, a fountain, a garden water feature, a stream, a brook, a river, a sea, an ocean, asparagus spears in brine, bodily organs stored in formaldehyde, ketchup, mayonnaise, salad cream, cream, fizzy drink, Scotch Whisky, Irish Whiskey, Tennessee Whiskey, melted cheese, melted butter, melted chocolate, liquid soap, molten steel in a foundry, cheese sauce, Béchamel sauce, Hollandaise sauce, magma running from a volcano, non-Newtonian fluids, slime - it's entirely your choice so let your imagination run free! It would be a big help if you give your picture a title so to help us understand your point of view. Members have asked if we'd very kindly name the camera and lens used because it's interesting to know. The rules are deliberately loose so go out and shoot with this month's theme in mind or start searching back through those pictures you took oh-so long ago that you'd forgotten about and start posting! It doesn't have to be your best ever shot and it's not a competition so you might surprise the rest of us and yourself - it's just about sharing some pictures, seeing others' take on the topic, and enjoying it! Everybody's welcome to contribute, any interpretation, any number of posts, pictures that have been posted on the forum before, any equipment as long as it and the photo complies with the forum's rules of either camera or lens or both made by Leica. Please post freely - especially newcomers and please remember there's no judging or criticism (good or bad) in this thread.
