Shutter Capping - Leica M6

Had a roll back off my M6 from the developers and they’d made a note of light leaks on some frames. Definitely not on all of them, it is quite random.

Someone has suggested that it’s shutter capping, anyone else throw out an opinion as to the issue?

To me that does not appear to be related to the shutter's function. Rather, there seems to be a light leak somewhere. From how it looks it could be the light seal around the shutter curtains. Those do degrade over time (they become too stiff to successfully perform their light sealing function).

If a light leak, would that not affect all images, rather than just random frames?

Not necessarily. The light seal might still be good enough to seal lower intensities of light, but when there is more light or a certain angle of incoming light, this may go past the light seal. I assume that you will see the phenomenon only on shots that were taken in very bright light, correct?

Yes, bright light, but some images in the same light don't have the leak.  Hence my confusion :)
I've dropped a guy who fixes Leica an email to cost up a CLA for me.
