Just developed a roll of FP4 in this Leica 111. I bought the 28mm Summaron a few weeks ago but had not used it until today.

Sweet setup. Will the accessory finder allow you to lift the shutter dial and change speed?

In those days the VIOOH with a TUVOO

or a

SUOOQ

were in use with the few 2.8cm Hektor and Summaron.

The „normal“ lens of all mobile phones in our millennium was a „super-wide“ back then.

These two SUCHER (in German, we‘re more cautious: we search, rather than FIND)

left enough space for operating the exposure time wheel on the LTM Leicas.

A shot from my working UR Leica #80, converted by Mr. Kim in Seoul.  For a camera built by Leitz designed Not to work.....looks like we turned the table. 🙂

There Really is a different feeling using this camera.  Your head kind of gets “into it”, you realize the seeming crudeness but the results show the level of precision the original design had.  It’s too bad more Leica fans cannot experience photography like Barnack, with this camera in hand.

I had lost the counter disc and finally found a pretty good replacement, off a broken TDC Colorist Stereo Camera.  BTW the finder looks a bit odd but.... once you actually USE it, you realize just how perfect it is!

In the early 70's I was a student (graphic arts and photography).  At lunchtimes, I would often walk to the city centre to look in Frank Jessop's and Cecil Jocobs chemists shop windows at the range of used Rollei tlr's, Leicas, Contaxes and MPP cameras on display.

I really liked the look of the Leica iiic and iiif and made a promise to myself that one day I'd buy one.

Fast forward 50 years with a career as a self employed photographer behind me, I've finally bought a iiif!

My iiif RD ST with a 50mm elmar red scale and Fison arrived a couple of days ago.  From the serial number, the camera is the same vintage as myself (1954).  It is a joy to use and the first roll of film will be processed today.

Beautiful camera and lens--please post some pics. I just returned to photography after 30+ years and having a great time with it. This past Friday, I shot a picture of a crowd dining with my IIIg and I could tell people were like, "What the hell is that thing?" Thanks for posting and sharing.

IIIa with 2.0/5cm. Shot this about 15 years ago in the winter sun with my MP, both still in my camera bags and working well.

1940 Standard, just back from being serviced. It was very brassy, now it has new wind and rewind knobs and a few other new parts.

I have that exact same light meter!  Really a user friendly and precise meter.   Beautiful, as well.

That is a beautiful camera!

I have the reintroduction of the Leitz 0 (Null) series camera released in limited numbers back in 2001.

My latest acquisition - an early Leica III with nickel Elmar both from 1933 (first year of the III) - Camera probably came from the second batch in 1933, based on serial #

It looks to be in beautiful/good working condition. Came from one of Australia's largest Leica collections/collectors.

Checked the speeds with photoplug (iPhone/App & sensor) and they're very close (especially slow speeds) & some reasonably close

Can't wait to put some film through

As far as I can see the only thing not original (cept for one screw) is the spool which is a Canon brand

Joining Barnack love just back in Dec 2021 a newbie, start with 1935 III mod F with nickel 5cm/3.5 then on Jan 3 2022 added IIIF 1952 with Summitar 5cm/2, also lucky to got a case for it

Currently III mod F back to CLA again as most of the result was not focus nor sharp
