orengrad Posted August 8, 2021 Share #1 Posted August 8, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Apologies if this should be obvious, but I don't have one of these cameras in hand and it's not clear to me from studying the manual: is the EVF attachment required to see a live view histogram on an M240/246 or can it be displayed on the camera's rear LCD screen as well? I know the histogram can be displayed on the rear screen in review mode, so this question is specifically about availability of the histogram pre-exposure. Advertisement Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 Hi orengrad, Take a look here Live view histogram in M240/246. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
a.noctilux Posted August 8, 2021 Share #2 Posted August 8, 2021 Pre-exposure histogram can be seen on the rear screen by pushing (half-press) the shutter button after some "process" 👨🎓. Process is not common (for simple M menu we are used to...). Push LV, then two times INFO, half-press shutter button, then we can see small histogram bottom/right of rear screen. What do you mean with process? The button-press-procedure or a processing time? The histogram is realtime as long as you press the shutter button. And the camera is back in that view when you turn the camera on again. The histogram is much smaller than the image review histogram.

Does the camera "remember" that you've set it to show the histogram, or do you need to push the INFO button twice every time you go into live view? To be clear, do you mean that the histogram setting is "sticky" across LV sessions and even when the camera is turned off?

With the info button you cycle through three modes: minimal info, minimal info + level tool, extended info with mini-histogram. When you were in LV when you switched the camera off, you are back in LV when you switch the camera on again and the last view-mode is active. Two possibilities: - when in histogram screen and LV on, switch off the camera would "remember" the setting when on again, the same rear screen will show - same screen but putting LV off before putting the M240/246 off, when put on again, needing to do pushing LV/2xINFO buttons again
