Any updates from those of you that have purchased and use this lens?  Thanks!

On the SL2 I'm finding it challenging to get sharp images at 600mm. I don't use a tripod but have used a monopod and the issue is the same. Need very good light so that you can keep the shutter speed up at usable iso.

Are you using the electronic shutter? As previously mentioned here many times, there's shutter slap with these cameras which is amplified by the mechanical shutter when used with long lenses.

This was taken with the 150-600mm & SL2-S @ 600mm, Electronic Shutter, hand held & cropped to 100%

Here's another image, no issues with sharpness   -SL2-S & 150-600mm w/ 1.4x TC @ 840mm, Electronic Shutter, hand held ISO400  f9 1/160s

Yes, electronic shutter for everything except where rolling shutter might be an issue. One possibility might be the OS but I did try both settings 1 and 2 and hand held for a while without any noticeable change. Could be motion blur as I had to use lower shutter speeds than I am comfortable with. But I had my 90-280 with me and the difference in sharpness at similar settings was stark. The image below was one of the few I regarded as a keeper but it is still not as sharp as I would like. I don't use any sharpening software apart from Lightroom.
