Bobby Posted July 28, 2021 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Apart from the obvious difference in interchangeable vs fixed mount lens, in terms of dynamic range (mostly shadow recovery) is the sensor of the Q2 much better than the M246? I'm considering the M246 but most say the dynamic range is not as good as the one in the new sensor.
Advertisement Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 Hi Bobby, Take a look here M246 vs Q2M. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted July 28, 2021 Share #2 Posted July 28, 2021 (edited) Not exactly what you asked, but might give you an approximation if you treat the SL2 sensor performance as a rough proxy for the Q2…. https://www.reddotforum.com/content/2020/05/bw-iso-showdown-2020-leica-m10-monochrom-vs-m-monochrom-typ-246-vs-m10-p-vs-sl2/ And a more recent Q2 comparison, albeit without the M246… https://www.reddotforum.com/content/2021/02/bw-iso-showdown-2021-leica-q2-monochrom-vs-m10-monochrom-vs-q2-vs-m10-r/ For me, the choice (besides the lens issues) would more relate to the RF vs EVF experience. All of these cameras are very capable. Jeff Edited July 28, 2021 by Jeff S
