I am not familiar with his style, but does he suggest in the comments about 'centreing' that this was a specially prepared review lens?

It is not a specially prepared lens, but he can get a another loaner lens from Cameraquest if it is not a centered lens...

I was a bit extremely surprised to read this in the FM review;

"The focus ring tab runs smoothly and the aperture ring has defined 1/3 stop clicks..."

Is that correct? I've never yet come across a Voigtlander lens with 1/3rd stop clicks. Zeiss, yes, but Voigtlander? There is (as we all know) some small-detail crossover between the 'brands' within the Cosina plant but not so much with the lenses themselves. Has Voigtlander adopted the Zeiss aperture scale?

Philip.

Having the lens in my hands to actually try it, no, it is 1/2 stops only. That was an inaccuracy.

I thank you very much for this reassurance, 28framelines.

I wish you Very Good Shooting with your new pairing (once they meet) and please do share, subsequently, some of the results!

Haha thanks Philip! To add to it, the clicks between apertures are perfect. They're just so smooth with just the right amount of detent.

Renders Cron 28 to golden dust. :)

I wouldn't jump into to conclusion too quickly. Many mirrorless lens can do that too with perfect flat focal plane and sharpness all the way out to corners and yet we are spending way more for less on Leica. 🤪

if it's like its sibling the 35mm ultron ii, then it is going to perform roughly the same as the Leica 28mm Summicron ASPH, congrats!

Not sure I like the bokeh of 35 ultron. It can get quite funky with foliage

Here is a sample of the lens wide open on a M10-R. It was the black paint version.

Almost everything unsharp. Not a good example for this very good lens.

Cool.

Is it possible to see it on any M camera?

They say is it 5 см long lens. Kinda on longer side for M lens, IMO.

Here is the black paint lens on a black paint M10-R.

Oh man. They left you hanging. Here. It’s my favorite walk around lens. I’m so happy with it. The 28f2 Summicron profile works with it.

Thank you. Somehow reminds me 28 2.8 III. Is hood blocking 28mm framelines?

Is it at close or on infinity?

Hood ruins it. Same reason I sold Leitz 28 2.8 III. Or any other lens which takes significant part of VF.

You're referring to the rectangular LH-12 hood i guess but the round LH-4N below should fit too. It was advertised as such when i ordered the CV 28/2 asph. Doesn't come as a surprise being a 39mm lens. Vignetting could be the price to pay to get such a compact lens though. Not a problem in PP hopefully.

Yes, vent hood should solve VF blockage.

Personally, I like vignetting. The problem is to get one properly exposed with mine M-E 220. :)  It tends to overfix it.
