Richard K Posted June 2, 2021 Share #1 Posted June 2, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) OK, I sprung for one spare. Seems more than adequate for me. But, I also have this amazing M. Leibfritz battery box that holds two batteries. So...I’ve been tempted. 🤔 How many batteries do you have?
Advertisement Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Hi Richard K, Take a look here Q2 Batteries, how many?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ianforber Posted June 2, 2021 Share #2 Posted June 2, 2021 Just one spare. In the UK they ‘only’ cost £130 but even so i don’t think I need any more. As it is, I take so few pictures that one battery lasts me more than a month.
Richard K Posted June 2, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted June 2, 2021 That’s a lot cheaper than in Canada. I tried to order one from the UK but they won't ship batteries. LOL it just bugs me having that nice Leibfritz 2 battery box half empty.

Beauty of the Nightcore charger is I can charge in my car between shooting locations if needed. Again, very rare. I always carried two extra batteries for my Q. Happy to see the larger Q2 battery.
Herr Barnack Posted June 2, 2021 Share #5 Posted June 2, 2021 I have two extra batteries. One is sufficient for day to day photographing, but I got the second one for travel.
jmc014 Posted July 5, 2021 Share #6 Posted July 5, 2021 I have two extra batteries as well. Originally intended to have one extra but couldn't pass up a good deal in Sydney, Australia.

Bcaldwell Posted December 13, 2021 Share #9 Posted December 13, 2021 I'm in Portugal where I just bought two new Q2 batteries from a Leica dealer. With the VAT refund I'll get when I leave the country, they were US$131.00 ea. I checked B&H from the store where they are now listed at $285.00 ea.
Stuart Richardson Posted December 13, 2021 Share #10 Posted December 13, 2021 I bought my SL2 used and it came with an extra battery, so I use that as backup for the Q2. I have seldom needed it for either camera, unless I am doing an extended session. The batteries do go a lot more quickly if you are doing video or truly using the camera the whole time for hours. For me, I mostly am taking fewer pictures over a longer time, and if you turn off the camera when not actively using it, I find it lasts quite awhile. So I would say if you envision event type use where you are using it constantly over hours, then maybe grab a spare, otherwise it will probably take you reasonably far. Casakleinhuis Posted December 14, 2021 Share #13 Posted December 14, 2021 One spare. My seller offered me a spare one for free with the Q2M. A spare one is 150 Euro over here
luetz Posted December 14, 2021 Share #14 Posted December 14, 2021 Carry one spare. $365.00 CDN from my local store.
Chun Chang Posted December 14, 2021 Share #15 Posted December 14, 2021 Two battery. Although rare that I exhaust the first. Better to be safe.
ravinj Posted December 15, 2021 Share #16 Posted December 15, 2021 Total of three. Two are adequate for a normal day of shooting.
johonew Posted December 15, 2021 Share #17 Posted December 15, 2021 I sprung for two extra batteries also. I do NOT like getting caught without a charged battery!

My extra Q2 battery was CDN $360. -which works out to roughly USD $280. Yes, the Q2 battery can last for quite a bit, but not so much when it's cold. I can go through two fully charged batteries in a long-ish walkabout.
RWood Posted December 16, 2021 Share #19 Posted December 16, 2021 (edited) One extra but rarely need it after one days shooting. $245.00 each in U.S. Edited December 16, 2021 by RWood
acg69 Posted December 16, 2021 Share #20 Posted December 16, 2021 No extra battery here. Never needed one. I have the Nightcore charger and a solar power bank to be completely self sustained. If the battery can hold for a day’s shooting, it is sufficient for me. I tend to shoot the way we were doing back in the old days of film, which means that I don’t shoot indiscriminately just because I can:) Bottom line, I never ran out of juice when I needed to shoot more, but of course ymmv:)
