Image comparison 35 Summilux Asph with 35 Summicron APO Asph

It would be great if you can shoot a chrome subject (like a chrome faucet or bumper) under moderate sunlight to see how APO shines?  Other person did a test on the 50APO VS 50LUX, the result was unexpected.

Thanks, this is just a quick observation, disregarding purple fnigihng idnetified in other thread [points to APO] there is hardly any difference.

In actual shooting with M246 I find FLE very sharp for my taste for most situations, prefer Summaron 35mm f2.8.

Great. I`m looking for my ordered Apo 35 over more than 4 weeks. Back to Germany I will kill the Leica people of the Wetzlar Store.

Regards Hans

For which purpose?

You caught me at just the right moment (between one thunderstorm and the next!)

It is a pity I am not allowed to travel yet, otherwise I would be pleased to assist you with the restoration of your toilet house.

Don't worry - I built it more than 30 years ago, so it'll probably last for a week or so until you can come and fix it.

😇😂

I intend to use it with my M 10-R. Up to no Summicron 28 and 75 m, furthermore my old R 21-35 mm adapted. I like to pick up pictures of landscapes and nature.

Hans

I think you were being asked why you will kill the good people of Wetzlar😉

Someone asked about this in the review thread, but I thought it might be of more general interest.

Images shot on a tripod with focusing via EVF, Camera was M10-R.

In each group there is 35 summilux at f1.4, at f2 and then APO at f2 followed by a screenshot of 100% magnification of the focused area from Lightroom (f2 shots)

All shot DNG, with minimal exposure adjustment where necessary.

....

Many thanks for this comparison.

FLE and APO performances are very close IMO, except on the roof, where the difference is quite visible...

thank you Jono. To my eye the Summilux FLE holds up quite good, even if the Summicron has the edge it doesn't make the Summilux look bad.

Hi Tom

it’s always been a great lens, and it still is! I think the differences are pretty much what you would expect.

all the best

I think no. The belgium coast is my secound home since about 40 years.

Yust the old and lonly boy (my demented wife died one year ago) was sitting on the balcony together with a france red and an assortment of cheese, smoking a big Havanna, looking over the beach, the see and into the sky. The weather is changing rapidly as you may see below. The proof: A picture taken with my M 10-R plus Summicron 28 mm.

Regards Hans, this time my S3 stays at home

The North Sea coast weather can change quite rapidly. Impressive picture.

Sorry to hear about your wife. That sickness is terrible, both for the patient and for the family.
