Ok then. You certainly read above about the 75 above. I must say that mine is a bit off as well. But as its not much off (not that it would upset me) I decided not to do anything as it does not disturb in practical use. So that is just me.

Tx! I need to test infinity in the morning. If that's off according to Aperture there's a sporting chance that adjusting at infinity will fix the issue. If its just close focus that's off the lens needs to go back to Leica to have the floating element adjusted. I use the RF almost 99% compared to LV and I want this lens to get sharp eyes on portraits... I've used one before so I know its not me!

should I just return the lens or get it calibrated

I've had three. They all were or went out of kilter, always the same thing: the rear element group (the FLE bit) was ever so slightly loose - can be heard to rattle if you shake the lens gently up and down like a ketchup bottle!

1. New lens, started out ok then drifted

2. Loaner from Leica whilst mine was away for adjustment - worse than my original rattled like a bag of bolts.

3. Replacement new lens as the original was involved in a 'missing delivery' whilst under the care of Leica - started out perfect, with no rattling at all, and has now drifted out just like the original. Really needs to be sent in for a recalibration.

To be clear: this only affects rangefinder focussing at wider apertures. Not really noticable from f/5.6 or using live view or an SL body. The lens IS spectacular which is why I'm persevering. My suggestion to 'newtoleica' is to get it calibrated or you'll end up going through multiple copies which will also need recalibration.

Thanks. It doesn't rattle and infinity is out as well as close focus so I don't think it's the FLE, but simply the whole RF adjustment which can be done simply in London. Fingers crossed.
