Sell it. I understand that the metering on the TTL models cannot be repaired if it develops a fault, and electronics don't really like to sit unused for long periods of time.

This is why I have purchased m6 classic, not TTL

You rekindled an old thought to mine.  My first M was an M6 TTL 0.58 bought new in about 1999.  I remember being disappointed when I first removed it from the box and saw the silk-screened sticker on the shutter speed dial, instead of proper vintage Leica with engraved and enamel filled numbers.

Am I the only one who ever felt that?

It's engraved on the MP and M-A.

In 2002 I bought a new M6TTL which I have been using a lot. In 2007 I could buy one M6TTL from the series 'Die letzten 999' which I rarely use but on special occasions I take it with me. It's a beautiful camera which I didn't buy as investment but because I like film Leica M camera's. Six years ago an relative gave me some Leica material, among which was a M6 which is since my most used camera.
