75Baja Posted March 26, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 26, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know if a generic USB data cable cord will fit an X1? So far, the only place I've found that sells the genuine Leica cable ( part 423-089-003-022 ) is BH. Thanks.
Advertisement Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Hi 75Baja, Take a look here Does anyone know if a generic USB data cable cord will fit an X1?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted March 26, 2021 Share #2 Posted March 26, 2021 Why not? USB is USB and if you get a fully wired one with a correct plug there is no reason why it should not work.
dkCambridgeshire Posted April 1, 2021 Share #3 Posted April 1, 2021 Personally, I save battery power by using a card reader ... have not used a USB cable with Leica cameras (includig X series) for many years.
Einst_Stein Posted April 2, 2021 Share #4 Posted April 2, 2021 (edited) Be careful on what you want to do. You cannot charge the battery through its USB, you cannot ahoot it tethering either. All you can do is to transfer pictures, but, it would be much faster to take out the SD card for picture transfering. To put it simple, forget it. You should never need it. Warning: trying to charge the battery through its USB port may burn your camera, and it may not cover by ghe warranttee. The camera USB port is designed to be connected to a USB port. The camera may or may not charge your battery when connected to a USB port. It should not "burn your camera" when the camera USB port is connected to a USB port, since that's what it's designed to do. Toshi
