What are the things to watch out for and do you have any useful tips for people getting in BW photography with this camera? Thank you

Luke_Miller Posted March 23, 2021 Share #2 Posted March 23, 2021 Probably the most important thing to understand about the Monochroms is that, unlike their color counterparts, no recovery from overexposure is possible. So when in bright light and light colored subjects I dial in -.7 exposure compensation to protect the highlights. The M246 ISO performance is so good I really don't have to worry about a slight under exposure. I Find that I process the M246 files much differently than those from my M240. So plan on taking the time to create your own style. It helps to have a monitor that does justice to B&W images. Inexpensive ones often don't.
Jeff S Posted March 23, 2021 Share #3 Posted March 23, 2021 Also, color channels do not work in PP, so one might want to explore use of color filters (yellow, orange, red, green), as in b/w film days. As always, it's mostly about the photographer's choices, not the camera. I would stick with reliable Leica dealers, offering warranty. Jeff
