Pink noise

I just got my Leica Q back from sensor cleaning from Leica Korea. Now I can see something that appears to be pink noise on about 20% of all my raw files (the jpegs are fine).

I only had the Q for about 2 weeks before the service, so I can't guarantee that the problem didn't exist before the service.

Could this have been due to the service?

Generally - the first suspect in this kind of scrambled image is a bad or poorly-formatted SD card. Especially if intermittent.

A fast and cheap test is to try again with the card carefully reformatted (not just "delete pictures") in the camera. Or with a whole new high-quality card of moderate capacity (not too small, not too large).

It's rather interesting that the shape of the noise band reveals the pin-cushion distortion )( the Q applies to correct for the 28 Summilux's native barrel distortion ( ). ;)

I would format the card in the computer first using SDFormatter, before doing so again in the camera. I suspect that the card has been used in another camera whilst th Q was being serviced.

which could mean its not the card, but some other internal problem

Revisiting this it looks more like an electronic  problem to me. There are data written to the card: a faint and shifted image, strong noise. Send  the image to Leica for evaluation. The JPG rules out a sensor fault.
