A fresh batch of these have recently been shipped.  I was lucky and got one, so I am looking for the technical data to go with the lens, and it seems that none of Leica's websites has more than scattered examples of the old familiar data sheets.  Some Googling turns up a copy in Chinese, but English and German data sheets for this lens have vanished.  The Karbe data in the post above (from a talk in 2021) shows more than was ever available in an official leica datasheet.  Its message is that in the close focusing range, the character of the image changes significantly between f/2.0 and f/5.6.

Good to know.  But have things changed during the long period when the lens was unobtainable?
