Hi Evikne, love your pictures with this lens, love the way it produces skin tone, may I ask did you have to do any post processing ?  I do have a 50 APO and loves it for "transparent" look, but rather too clinical, need another lens for "softer" look.  Appreciate your feed back.

James,

Hi and thank you! I usually do very little post processing. I almost leave the LR sliders untouched, but these old lenses often need a bit of Clarity to get a better 3D effect on the faces. I also experiment with different profiles. I always start with the Adobe Color profile, but after some comparison I often switch to a film simulation profile from RNI.

This thread really inspired me. Thank you all for showing great images.

Sadly, for now, this lens is not in my budget, and therefore I bought a sonnar 1.5, which to me would be the best match.

Then, one day when old, I can maybe afford the e46 version. Till then, I will enjoy both my lens and this thread. Really inspiring.

I've never quite figured out where to look when taking a self-portrait with a rangefinder camera. Because in the picture my "free" eye always looks the other way. 😄

Just a question, does anyone here shoot with the Chrome version (first iteration of V2 pre-asph) of this lens? Seems most people posting here it’s with either the e43 black version or e46, so just wondering as I’d like to see some examples with that version, which although I understand has the same lens design, it should have different coatings due to age difference.
