RayD28 Posted February 27, 2021 Author Share #5 Posted February 27, 2021 For these two shots I can see the changes but not sure if they "improve" them. I rarely use the Nik applications and this is probably why.
fotomas Posted February 28, 2021 Share #6 Posted February 28, 2021 Well - this is in the ISO range the M 240 is quite usable. Would be more interesting what it can do with 6400 ISO and banding.

I'm sure I took some but deleted them because of the noise I've encountered. I'm not much good at PP and generally use a few basic features. I don't often use the Nik collection but there are some good tools.

Here's a crop of a mundane shot, that's exposed for the highlights - not the subject (yes I know I need shooting, how crap of me. I'd only had the 240 a few days at this point and I was seeing what the sensor could do) The 1/3 SOOC DNG crop Welcome, dear visitor! It's ISO200, so let's bump the exposure +2stops and drag the shadow recovery too +75 Ah hello banding 100% crop AFAIK Nothing in LR can make that banding go away... so let's outsource to Dfine 2 Hidden under the "more" tab there's the debanding tool. 100% crop Yeah sure it still looks like shit, but the banding's vastly reduced When the .Tiff arrives back to LR I then added +20 L and +6 col NR I don't claim to be an expert But FWIW that's how I've been using Dfine to reduce banding that can happen with 240 DNGs pushed too much in post HTH? 1
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! david strachan Posted March 6, 2021 Share #11 Posted March 6, 2021 I've found Dfine good also, particularly for noise reduction. Good to know about banding fix. Advantages.. Seemlessly works in Lightroom and Photoshop and it's free. ...
