Twasi Posted February 25, 2021 Share #1 Posted February 25, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a few older lenses that lack the six-bit codes. Rather than sending them back to Leica, it is easy to attach your own 6-bit-ready flanges. But there are many manufacturers and many prices. Does anyone know where to get the highest quality 6-bit-ready parts suitable for each Leica model lens?

Harpomatic Posted February 25, 2021 Share #2 Posted February 25, 2021 Hi, I got one off the auction site for my Tele-Elmar 90mm thin here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-bit-flange-adapter-type-II-for-Leica-M8-M9-lens-28mm-90mm-11804-28-2-8-v3/203048199436?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 it’s a type II, I used the infor from this thread: Which I found really useful. Now, my adapter didn’t mount on the camera because I think the seat for the screw heads had a little burr still in there. R.J. From Jinfinance, the seller, has been extremely helpful and responsive with messages, helped me to figure out the problem, even accepted the return for refund or exchange after I had (stupidly) already painted the flange before trying it on. I was not able to perfectly clean the burrs. The flange is on it’s way back for a replacement. He is a reliable seller and I would give it a try. The flange was also well made overall, I think I was unlucky. And he is the only one I found with the type II designation on the whole site! Hope this helps. 84bravo Posted February 25, 2021 Share #3 Posted February 25, 2021 I've used the Chinese 6 bit flanges for my 35f2 (IV), 50f2 (IV), 28f2.8 (IV) 21f2.8 and 90f2 and they've all worked great. You should paint the interior diameter of the mount black to avoid flare.
