You might all understand by now that Holland (hollow land?) is a country for a part below sea-level; I just happen to live at one of the lowest spots.

Then it is good some people are already planning for The Big Flood.

 

 

The Ark of Noach, contemporary version, now equiped with restaurant and bar . . .

On the waterway to Kinderdijk (taking the fast ferry from Rotterdam Central.

The day I was in Kinderdijk was overcast. When I look at some of my photos from that day it is so easy to see many of the colors of Van Gogh's works. A real pleasure. Rob

Eight nights next week. First two in Groningen last six in Utrecht. One day trip to Concert-Gebowe in Amsterdam and maybe a few more side trips. Can't wait.

If you have time, combine the Van Gogh Museum with the Concertgebouw. They are a four-minute walk apart, just past the Stedelijk Museum of modern art. The Rijksmuseum is ten minutes walking further.
