geotrupede Posted February 16, 2021 Share #1 Posted February 16, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, looking to replace my 10 years old batteries as they are not that good any longer... especially in the cold. I would like to pick the original ones but my concern is that the one for sale are old stock and as such perhaps not as good as they could be. Any opinion or insight or recommendation for best battery for M8/9/M series cameras? Price is not an issue, can be original but would like to be sure product is fresh. dummilux Posted February 16, 2021 Share #2 Posted February 16, 2021 The original Leica battery is pretty much your only option.
a.noctilux Posted February 16, 2021 Share #3 Posted February 16, 2021 😉 I second dummilux. Ten years of use tell them all. Each 14464 Leica battery has date code inscription "WWYY X " (week number and year + one letter). In Leica manual, replacement every four years of use. Freshness of batteries, I don't know.
antigallican Posted February 17, 2021 Share #4 Posted February 17, 2021 Probably you know this, but keeping them in a pocket next to your body helps their performance in the cold

boojum Posted February 17, 2021 Share #6 Posted February 17, 2021 I have an original Leica and two or three eBay wonders. They all work.
GiorgioNuvolari Posted February 17, 2021 Share #7 Posted February 17, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought one toward the end of 2019 and it was claimed that it came from a new batch. And I had to wait for the stock to appear after a period of being sold out. I would guess that it had been manufactured recently. Hope this helps!
