tommonego@gmail.com Posted February 13, 2021 Share #1  Posted February 13, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ok I couldn't resist a TTArtisan 35 f1.4 APS-C L mount lens for $78 including shipping. Came today, didn't expect it until March. Did several photos today, it is an OK lens, small, 1/8 of an inch longer that than my 35 Summilux pre-asph with the M to L mount on it, 180gm so really light weight. Came in a nice box well packed with a lens brush and blower. My only gripe of the over all design is a screw on lens cap, just not convenient. Seems to have good metal construction, but the mount seems a little loose connecting to the camera. Like my other Chinese lens a 7 Artisans 55 f1.4, it hits well above its price point. So the rusty bridge at the end of my street. CL 35mm f1.4 TTArtisans APS-C Welcome, dear visitor! ramarren Posted February 14, 2021 Share #2  Posted February 14, 2021 Nice photo, glad to see that the TTArtisan lens can produce a good photo. My only question, really, is why would you buy another 35mm f/1.4 lens, albeit a super-inexpensive one, when you already have the superb Summilux 35/1.4? I just don't understand that. (My 1972 vintage Summilux 35/1.4 was just recently returned from being serviced for a loose distance scale. Working perfectly again now, and just about glued to my CL, at least most of the time... ) G
lct Posted February 14, 2021 Share #3 Â Posted February 14, 2021 Smaller size? Curiosity? If it had an M mount i would be tempted.

I just had my 1972 Summilux CLAd too, it is doing wonderfully. The lens I use the most on the CL is the 23 Summicron. Anyway I wanted to see how a cheap lens would do on the CL. I much prefer the Summilux on my M3 and M8. I am not a 50mm person, I like wider or more telephoto, I find 50mm boring. I also struggle with the focal length. So a cheap 50 in my CL kit and keep the 35 Summilux on my M3. Also how often does a Leica user get to make a spur of the moment purchase of a new lens?
