Some lucky guy in belgium got it already. Official launch tmr 1500 GMT+1.

So the second rumour revealed by me on this forum was true! Let's see about the third (28-70 F 2.8L) and fourth (M11 with Ibis, no EVF, 47MP) come true ...

my guess: many announcements lately were on a Thursday; that dealer in France was just a day too early! also SL2-S was on a Thursday at 15h

so we will see today at 15h german time

Adding to the pattern for future predictions, 1500 in CET is 9 am in NYC, which seems to be a standard announcement  time and would form the end of any publicity embargo.  That's still 6 am in San Francisco, and 10 pm in all of China.  I wonder how they feel about it?

Stock in hand so close to the day of announcement is a good sign.  Let's see how Leica USA does.

To be honest I think the chinese market is more concerned about limited M series in organic albinos zebra leather, impractical noctiluxes and revamped faux vintage.... for a large majority of it over the SL... but what do I know 😅.

Maybe one day we will see an alarming number of precious "vintage" SL cameras and lenses getting repainted "JCH" style and sold for horrendous prices in HongKong. I am thankful we dont (or yet) have special editions of SL product line so far.

Here's some more.  The drawing on the right agrees with Peter Karbe's slide.  The drawing on the left has more details, but an extra piece of glass that probably doesn't belong.

Looking at the MTF charts at post #128 above…

There isn't an earth-shattering difference between them and the Leica Elmarit-R 28mm V2.

https://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/28mm_f/2.8_Elmarit-R_II

Goes to show how good some of the R lenses were 😃
