Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I too have recently purchased one of these with sever vertical misalignment with the goggles.

On my copy, on the goggles, the Made in Germany engraving is in the middle.

When mounted, does the SDPOO fit well ?

Maybe not the right ball size ?
