Must be a chrome 35/2 v4 # 11311 i guess. There is one here (link) but it could be less expensive IMO. The dealer is very serious though.

This is the lens. And price is around that. It seems to be the cost. Its gemrna made too. Not Canadian. What do yo guys think ?

That’s the sellers message. One of the most famous in the Netherlands and Europe:

I sold recently one for 4500. That was in less condition with no box. I can sell this one for 5000 euro. It is in top condition and complete with caps, warranty card, box, pouch, hood and I think maybe even plastic with matching number (not sure about the last).

i am in position to negotiate if I don’t go through eBay. Probably to 4750.
I don’t know if I’ll love that lens but I think it’s a wise buy. The king of bokeh being a famous loved and hated Leica lens, it has a place in history. There’s also the fact that people avoid the Canadian one and that it is made in Germany. Silver is rarer than black too. I tell myself it could be the next silver rim, when people will cherish it for its imperfection.

I don't think Leica ever made a 11311 in Canada but you may wish to ask on the Collector forum.

No they didn’t. But they made a KOB in Canada. The black version.
the silver one is made in Germany only and in much less quantities than the black.

Expensive for a lens sans box. Did you compare with the other link? (link)

What do you mean !! It’s with box and everything. Refer to my post #43.

I don't have the files to hand on the laptop I'm working on today, and these days I'm reluctant to post images of my kids online, but I was looking at some wide-open portraits from the v4 this weekend, and zooming-in specifically on the hair and also the weave in the clothes that the kids are wearing, and simply amazed at the sharpness. As I'm saying this without evidence you can take my words with a pinch of salt, if you choose.

But my conclusion is that every type of lens has some lemons - and you had one.

maybe. not so concerned though.... sold the lens years ago for a premium ;-) buyer never complained. Not sure that photo gives you much to assess though- possibly wasn't focused well and camera possibly shook... . My V1 goggled version is on another level when it comes to both sharpness and build quality. That's a keeper.

Is the seller Hans P? If so, I can vouch for him 100%. I can vouch for Jo Geier as well.

It looks very dirty on the sides. Lots of usage marks. I’d rather pay 300 more and have one like new.

Marco Schouten, established seller recommended by main forum members. I also like that now you can do a video call on WhatsApp to see the lenses. He’s also available until late at night which is when I usually go crazy with lens purchases 😂

I’ve bought several lenses from Marco Schouten - not the cheapest, but guaranteed quality.

If Jo Geier says it is "In near mint condition" i would tend to trust him personally but again it's up to you
