Ingo Posted December 25, 2020 Share #1 Posted December 25, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm considering to buy a SL2 for my headshot business coming from an S1/R (formerly SL601). Is FOTOS App a tool I can use during the session to show my clients the photos? Is the connection stable and fast? Thanks for sharing your experience. Advertisement Posted December 25, 2020 Posted December 25, 2020 Hi Ingo, Take a look here Experience with FOTOS App 2.0?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
scott kirkpatrick Posted December 25, 2020 Share #2 Posted December 25, 2020 Fotos is now quick and not too power-hungry if you upload the 1.5 MB jpegs, but still slow and a poor way to transfer the full DNG to the phone or tablet. There are annoyances when the phone or the camera goes into standby and require restarting the link between app and camera, but those are street problems, not studio problems. 1
Jk1002 Posted December 25, 2020 Share #3 Posted December 25, 2020 Is Capture One or Lightroom tethered shooting maybe an option? Since your in a Studio that may work. Capture one has an Ipad app just for your scenario. Cheers JK

During a 'stable' setup (one room) I'm using C1 for tethering and Capture Pilot. Welcome, dear visitor! But more often I walk around in the buildings to get different backgrounds using only one single rolling flash. That's when the wireless solution comes into the play. Of course I can also use a laptop and wired tethering in this scenario but I would prefer to go wireless. otto.f Posted December 26, 2020 Share #5 Posted December 26, 2020 Strangely enough, after all these years after the introduction, for the first time the app worked flawlessly and quick yesterday night at our Christmas dinner (with the SL). Deep respect for Leica’s software department.

I received my SL2 two days ago and can confirm that it works fine during my first tests.

Yes, FOTOS appears to be stable now, on SL2. Hopefully it will last...
