Einst_Stein Posted December 23, 2020 Share #1 Posted December 23, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Since I have my Leica, I tend to use large aperture. I also often use P mode, even that tends to prefer larger aperture. But with Leica XV, it "unwillingly" selects large aperture due to the max aperture imitation. With 50mm or longer (equivalent), it is often smaller than f6. To view back the old photos taken by XV, I realize how more beautiful it could be to use smaller aperture. This should be obvious of course, but it happens to me.

TMorita Posted December 26, 2020 Share #3 Posted December 26, 2020 Most camera firmware prefer larger apertures because they assume the camera is handheld. Most people will not carry around a tripod. Toshi
Sho-Bud Posted December 27, 2020 Share #4 Posted December 27, 2020 I usually shot the X Vario at aperture priority, choosing the widest aperture

The the widest aperture at longer focal length is not so wide anyway.
