First of all...I hope everybody living in the North Western States of the USA is ok and staying safe.

The news here in the Netherlands showed some footage off the extreme snow/winter situation over there and the effect on the population living in these areas.

So much households without power and cut off from help 😒. My thoughts are with all of you . Be careful out there.

As shown in my previous post I have some last pictures taken at the Freylemaborg.  Again with the much loved Sigma 90 mm DG DN C.

Because of the close focussing distance of this lens (about 50 cm) I like to explore the smaller subjects in nature.

If you choose your subject wisely, you are able to really separate your subject from the background. Even closed down to f8.0 or further.

Not really True Macro obviously, but the way the lens behaves and renders at close up distances really pleases me. A very versatile lens.

Here are some examples.

#1: 1/80 | f 9.0 | ISO 800

#2: 1/80 | f 14 | ISO 800

#3: 1/800 | f 8.0 | ISO 800

#4: 1/1000 | f 6.3 | ISO 800

All pictures are taken handheld. No need for a tripod with IBIS and small compact lenses.

Enjoy.

Good camera, good lens, good photographer.  Good combination.

Here in DC we were luck to escape with little inconvenience except below freezing temperatures but a little North of her the areas from New Jersey all the way to Maine had quite a storm.  Friends we know in NY, Boston and Maine were all stuck in the house but fortunately didn’t loose heat or power.

Why did you want to climb Mount Everest?
“because it is there” - George Mallory

p.s. this is not the Everest, I love the quote so I used it here for context. This was shot in Italy/Austria.
