Cats make such wonderful portraits in the absence of people to photograph.

It seems to me, that the APO-SUMMICRON-SL 1:2/28 ASPH & SL2-S does a wonderful job!

Elly 'won' me in an auction of promises for a portrait shoot. I was the lucky one - she turned out to be a former professional model (though is now a rather elevated research scientist). My first portraits in a year, and my first portraits with the SL2-S.

Your great photo and her face expression just confirms this. Setting, pose and framing just perfect.

I also have the SL2-S + 90SL, but reaching near the same level of result is still some thousand shots practice away..

Given the quite serious look from Elly, is there a connection for her with the names on the Bench plaque?   The very nice placement of her right hand also made me think it was a possibility.

There ought to be, but there isn't! I suppose I ought to clone it out, but the weathering around it makes it difficult. Photographer error.

No, no cloning necessary - the viewer can take from it whatever they please.  I often sit and wonder about the lives of the people whose names are on the benches I occasionally sit on....I think they are a nice memorial.   Nice portrait and I'm surely Elly was pleased with her win, she certainly looks comfortable in her own skin, a throwback to her modelling days I expect.  I  love being behind the camera but when one is pointed at me I always get this gormless don't know what to do with my face and hands look😊.

The modelling training was immediately obvious - she just snapped into 'performance' mode! She had said that she now did not like having a camera pointed at her, so this was by way of an opening up. Hence, perhaps, the serious expression!
