Yes an incredibly beautiful place but visited by more than a million people a (non covid) year.

It certainly is but if you go make sure you have weapons-grade insecticide with you.  The sandflies will eat you alive at any time of the day and their quite partial to some of the commercial brands of insecticide.

John - Lovely.  Our first time there Miter's Peak was socked in with clouds., but two years ago it was clear.

Pete - We must have lucked out - No sandfly issues for us in January 1919 or December 2018.

Hi Stuart,

You must be much older than you looked when we all had that wonderful breakfast in New York - you didn't look anywhere remotely near 100! 

If there's a breeze then the sandflies often stay home.  There's a museum dedicated to the little darlings on the West Coast.
