johnbuckley Posted December 3, 2020 Share #1 Posted December 3, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) When using the Monochrom-246, I found Auto ISO quite responsive. If I were to increase Exposure Compensation, the ISO would quickly adjust. However, with the M10 Monochrom, the adjustment seems to occur only with really pronounced changes in lighting. Typically, the ISO stays at 160 beyond when I would have expected it to go as high 640. I have used different Auto ISO settings, but settled on 1/focal length. Anybody else notice this? (I find it true on my M10R as well.) Any thoughts on what I should do? if you’re wondering why this matters, I often use Exposure Compensation with Aperture Priority to accentuate areas of comparative light and darkness, but don’t want to have too slow a shutter speed. Put differently, I’d prefer greater sensitivity in Auto ISO to preserve a higher shutter speed even when using Exposure Compensation. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice

Keith (M) Posted December 3, 2020 Share #2 Posted December 3, 2020 With my M10M set to Auto-ISO and 1/f, I activated live-view, pointed the camera at my monitor then slowly swung it away - the ISO setting changed smoothly in stages from 160 to 640 as light levels changed.

johnbuckley Posted December 3, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted December 3, 2020 Done like that, it absolutely works. I wonder why it’s hanging in real-world situations?

When using the rangefinder, all you have is center-weighted metering. In live view, I believe it defaults to multi-field (matrix).
