Interesting dynamic causing the table's umbrella hole to be replicated throughout the whole 'Polo Mint' layer. What I really like about the Q2M's night shots is that the various colour values and balance issues with different light sources is completely absent... all light being just plain old usable light:-)

Exactly!  Indoors or out the lack of color/colour temp issues is a pleasure.  My first thought, seeing the table was "bundt cake" but Polo Mint or Life Saver is even better.  I really like the detail and texture that the Q2M brings out in the files.  This is a fun camera to use!

Shot by Thoreau before he built his cabin...  Walden pond in background.

I had to Google Thoreau and I found this:

Henry David Thoreau lived for two years, two months, and two days by Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts. His time in Walden Woods became a model of deliberate and ethical living. His words and deeds continue to inspire millions around the world who seek solutions to critical environmental and societal challenges.

Hmm . . . .

another shot from the other day ....what impresses me about the Q is it's auto-focus capability .
...this clearly demonstrates it for me as shot wide open @ 1.7....with pinpoint accuracy

Much has been written recently about cropping.  Is it good?  Is it bad?  And technical stuff about f stops and resolution.  Does any of this really matter?  I don't think so, when all we need to do is have fun taken photos.  Here is an extreme crop from a full frame 28mm (not macro mode) photo.  Looks even better in Light Box.

Just for the record, the cropped dimensions are 1232 x 1232.  I've no idea what that means in effective focal length.  Maybe the mathematicians on the forum could tell me.

Whatever it is, I like my Q2 Mono!

Cropping focusses the minds eye view after the camera's focussed capture.
So, whether cropping is bad or good depends on your POV.
I think the kid has the right point of view ...!!!YEAH!!!

Just for reference here is the original uncropped photo.  He was exited having just received his new computer.
